Staying in a job you dislike for the money?

To continue doing a job you don’t like and doesn’t suit you or not? That is the question. On the one hand, the argument can be made that you should just stick it out, be tough and endure it till the end. After all, it pays well and that’s what you’re there for — the money. You may not be doing it well but what does that matter if you’re getting paid and someone is happy to keep paying you. Keep your head down, keep at it as best as you can and keep focused on the prize.

On the other hand, you could think about the amount of stress that you have to endure every day, the opportunity cost, and whether or not you want to spend the next six month hating your life?

I don’t know what the right answer is here. I don’t know what I should do. What I do know is that I shouldn’t be afraid of losing out. I’ve learned through experience that things can and often do get better. I’ve feared quitting a job before because I was worried I was never going to get anything quite as good and would struggle to make it in any other industry. Actually the opposite was true. I got another job, with bright prospects and even better pay. The point is that things often can and do get better. Don’t be afraid of letting something go because you are so bought into the fact of how good it is and think that it can’t get better than this. Do not fear. Be confident. Take risks. Be happy. Things can and do get better! Be bold.
